If they see something, they should say something. They are the eyes and ears of the parade. They are our first contact on the parade route, and emergency personnel will use them to help in times of emergency. Your parade marshal should help your organization develop a plan in case of emergency.

Parade Marshal and Protest, Active Shooter, Bomb, Vehicle as Weapon: No fees will be returned to parade participants in the case of a cancelled or rerouted parade. Please be advised that if/when the parade is protested the parade may be stopped and/or cancelled. If the Utah Pride Parade is protested, your parade entry may be rerouted or delayed past our permit time. Your entry will be immediately removed from the parade and your organization will be stopped from participating for at least one year. Your group will not participate in the following years' parades.Īdding another business, non-profit, politician or group to your entry is not permitted without the explicit written permission of the parade director.

You will be responsible for any fines, fees, arrests, injury, or imprisonment that may occur if you break these or any other laws. Any illegal behaviors and/or violations of the law will not be tolerated in the Utah Pride Parade staging, route, and disband area. It is illegal to possess or consume alcohol while participating on the city streets. No Use/Possession of Alcohol and Drugs or Violations of the Law: You will be banned the following year from participating in the parade if caught breaking this rule. A cleanup fee of up to $500.00 will be assessed to the contingent and removal from the parade for the violation of this rule. Spectators must be approached and handed items. No Throwing, Tossing or "Firing" of Any Objects or Items from any Vehicle, Conveyance or Float:ĭue to the danger of physical injury, insurance requirements signed by the Utah Pride Festival and Parade, and littering problems absolutely no items, including: water, bubbles, confetti, bracelets, necklaces, cards, tattoos, condoms etc., will be thrown, tossed or "fired" to the parade spectators or participants from any vehicle, conveyance, float or person. Our top priority is safety for the dog and its owner. An entry with a dog that has not been cleared by the information booth will be stopped from participation and taken out of their parade place until the situation is resolved. They will be given a pass to add to their leash. Dogs helping with a disability must check in at the information booth before the parade begins. All animals are subject to monitoring by Utah Humane Society and ASPCA. If necessary, a $150.00 clean-up fee will be assessed and contingent could be barred from participation in future Utah Pride Parade events. Violators will be immediately removed from the staging, parade, or dispersal area. Each contingent with a horse participating in the parade must have a clean-up crew and drinking water for them. Violators of these laws will be barred from participating in the Utah Pride Parade and could be subject to citation or arrest by the Salt Lake City Police Department.
